Markthalle in Stuttgart

Markthalle Stuttgart - Market hall in Stuttgart

Foodies and food lovers - heads up!

Food, food and more food – are there any “Foodies” amongst you, ambitious cooks or just food lovers?
Then this is the place to go - the Markthalle  (market hall) in Stuttgart

Maybe you have been there already by accident or you passed by without really noticing what this building in the middle of the city stands for.

Behind the really heavy doors you will find everything your taste buds wish for – 5000 square meters full of great wine, spirits and coffee to quench your thirst and more different types of food you could ever think of.
At least I have seen and tasted food I have never ever encountered or heard of before. If you are missing the odd ingredient for your recipe, here you will for sure find it.

There are numerous food stalls selling everything from meat, vegetables, fruits but also selected bread, spices, teas and cheese & - very important- chocolate and sweets...
Looking for a really beautiful bouquet (or a location you can send your husband to) – the flower shop offers super nice ones.
And on the second floor you will find living and garden culture at its best combined with jewelry, decoration (also Christmas), upmarket clothes brands, kitchen ware, bed linen and even a beauty parlor.
I love it up there, but it is also quite dangerous as I never leave empty handed.

Tired from shopping or just want to soak up the atmosphere?
You can relax in one of the restaurants for a taste of the Mediterranean /Italian (Restaurant Empore), Spanish (Tapasbar Desirée) and Swabian cuisine.

Want to experience more (local) food and interact with producers and farmers? The downtown farmers & flower markets are right beside the Markthalle 3 times a week on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays – read more:
